Not talking Game of Throne but those women in sitcom. Is this a hard activity for a casting agent? John Cleese said it was tricky to find a Sybil and Jennifer Saunders said it was hard to find a Patsy...
Casting "dragon women"
The ultimate - they'll never been another like Peggy Mount. She even scares me when I watch her - could knock the froth off a beer at 20 paces with that voice of hers.
And that stare! God Bless Her.

Yet apparently, completely the opposite in real life!
I seem to recall she was mad about boating though? Don't suppose her craft ever needed the use of a horn...

That looks like a still from "Sailor Beware" ? Great film!! Time to dig it out and give it an airing methinks.
These people usually are the complete opposite of their screen persona and I have no idea on the boating. Yes! Foghorn she wouldn't need.

No! The Larkins, with David Kosoff.

Yes! Knew I'd seen it somewhere. TV Times from January 1968, promoting the start of George And The Dragon Series 3.
Any other favourites? Joan Sanderson, maybe?
Timothy's mum in Sorry! is a classic old dragon
Hyacynth Bouquet in Keeping Up Appearances
Elizabeth Mainwaring in Dad's Army though not seen
Howard's mum in TBBT though not seen
Queenie Watts in Nearest and Dearest
Hylda Baker in Yus My Luv
Yootha Joyce in Man About The House
I think you'll find more if you do a search and keep the definition of dragon broad. Maybe some younger trainee dragons too like in Him & Her and Gimme Gimme Gimme
Di Botcher is excellent at playing a hard as nails bailiff in 'Orrible. At home she's nice as pie to everyone apart her layabout, jobless son.
Mrs Mangle from Neighbours
Joan Sanderson in Fawlty Towers
Maggie Kirkpatrick was terrifying as the battleaxe screw in Prisoner Cell Block H but I just discovered this which I never knew https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2015/aug/20/maggie-kirkpatrick-prisoner-star-found-guilty-of-sexually-assaulting-teenage-girl

That's an ideal candidate for Up The Arse Corner

Oooh yes - the absolute worst. Ronnie's mother in the sitcoms No - That's Me Over Here! and Now Look Here! is almost identical, too.

No I don't agree with that at all. She's very short with George - and with reason - but not generally a battleaxe like the others.
Diana Dors in "Queenie's Castle" - terrorised the neighbourhood, let alone her family.

Hmm, err, hmm, with the tenants yes she was amiable though vampish with Robin, but her main screentme and therefore her role was spent ordering George around who certainly viewed her as a dragon. One has to look at what the writers intended with that dynamic, a very prominent part of the sitcom which got them their own show, so 'George and the dragon' seems a fairly obvious intention to me.
Miriam Karlin in The Rag Trade?
Diana Dors in in 'The Sweeney' episode 'Messenger of the Gods' was the best dragon of them all.
She even frightened Jack Regan.

No one, but no one can touch the absolute ultimate Peggy Mount
