This looks great -do you know if it will be running again next year?

With $20 entry fee why wouldn't they? Mind you it's about £13 in the current exchange rate.

£15.33 :P

We operate a very low-cost entry fee. The submission fees go directly into competition prize monies and employing readers. We have a panel of 20 industry professionals on-board, with feedback being provided on each screenplay - even if they don't win.

Thanks, Katy -will keep an eye out!

That would be about £7.50 with the 50% off discount I guess? Let's not look a gift horse in the currency conversion app.

It's generally a tricky one with entry fees but definitely appreciate when organisations are transparent about what those fees are funding. Especially if they're giving something back like feedback! I found out on Monday evening I got to the full read stage in the recent BBC comedy room window; heartened to get that far but no idea what the readers made of it/no idea how to improve it. (And yes, this is a humblebrag.)

Due to the overwhelming support and success, we've decided to extend this offer for another week. As such, a new code has been issued, which'll allow you to save 50% off entries. Just enter FD50off at the checkout.

Thank you to everyone who has submitted their screenplays so far. We're looking forward to checking them all out.

Im not sure how to word this, as this is a comedy positve feeling site, but have any of your screenplay winners gone on to feature on tv or film? Your site takes forever to load, plus you have no about section; nor success stories. Your site mentions 20 judges, at 20 dollars a pop your simply need to cover the costs of the prizes; thus at the bottom pay click ads. But hey comedy forum jokes on us , but not me.

You're obviously in America for a start so if you're lying about that why would we trust you with anything else?

Im not going to allow a comedy writer " even if i hated him" to be fooled . Thats why i called you out 20 judges? And now you made an about se tipn. If your serious about it go to film finance meetings ther held in la yearly. We indure enough not to be subject to clickbait from press realeases. At film finance conferences la u might find some judges , i mean 20 judges? You have the site you might actually make sonething of it if you go to conference get rid of the click bait, theres always a silver lining

You have spent the money on the site and as pointed out u live in america, do the work go to the conferences get the judges u will find talent on here out weighs clicks hard pressed to beat the happy writer but i would forgive if u do the work

Not sure if that comment was addressed to me. If it was I've got no idea what you're talking about.

I had a look at the website and it looks like a good idea but there is a lot of vague information as well. I would prefer the industry professionals to be named so I can research them and for more information on how the sumbissions are marked and what criteria is used such as common questions like how weighted is spelling and grammar and what are the word counts and any penalties. Maybe this information is provided after registering but I would prefer to have it without having to register first. It also says you 'focus on narratives' highlighting disability, mental health, gender etc which is great of course but does that mean submissions from those groups will be viewed more favourably and put other entrants at an instant disadvantage?

Something else that stands out is there is an entrance fee which is used for prize money and to pay people to read all the submissions but people trying to break out in the industry don't need glitzy award ceremonies and prize money they need contacts and auditions. The full address of the venue in Leeds is also omitted so I don't know if I could go as a spectator if I haven't entered or if I'm going to be given the address after entering. Or if the venue is even booked.

The heading 'Eleven chances to win' could be worded better and is also a bit misleading because it suggests one entry has 11 chances to win but it would be impossible for an entry to fall in to all eleven catagories. Instead of 'Eleven chances to win' it should simply say 'catagories' so it loses the lottery scratchcard vibe.

I hope it succeeds and more follow but to me it appears profit orientated instead of focussed on promoting the talent which rings alarm bells. It should be free to enter and have no presentation event. Just mention the winners on the website and make the prizes like 'A day in the recording suite at ITV' or 'a day with BBC scriptwriters' instead of a cash prize that you probably have more chance of winning in a casino.

No sorry was quoting them, miss quote from phone but, statement the same. By the way checked ur profile, novel writer ey I wish you best in your novel writing. No sorry was quote on fact their new. Clicked wrong quote on my phone

Well as I'm the one that called them out. I will say lets not be this of hate. They jumped the gun, but in saying that they have the site and do the work I and should all also forgive. They come back in a few months with real deal as I said will forgive. Everyone deserves a second chance. I hope they take my advice go to la and get some real judges and get rid of click bate.
