I much preferred Top Cat.
Bilko Page 2
Loved 'Bilko'.
I read somewhere that Hollywood were desperate to use him (cash in on him), but just couldn't figure out how to.

So we put him in a Carry On film.
Just discovered, while browsing through the tv guide for next week, that "the Phil Silvers Show" is on Forces TV (no, me neither) at 4.55pm each day Monday - Friday. Sky channel 264, Virgin 227, Freesat 165 apparently.
Cheers Billy, I love Bilko.
The best US sitcom of all time.
Should be on television every day.
Just checked this morning - 227 is not in my Virgin package
But never mind as I have the 20 disc complete series in my Amazon wish list, which is only £50 and has over 2 hours of new bonus extras.

Try 277:

(I see all 5 Mon - Fri episodes are repeated back-to-back on Sunday afternoon 2pm - 5pm so you haven't missed out.)
Makes a helluva difference when you get the correct information.
And I can get 277! So watched tonight's Bilko AND it was one I had never seen before. Very funny (Bilko as a ballet dancer in his dreams - effin' hilarious!!) and most enjoyable.

I was only going by what's on the top bar of their website: http://www.forces.net/forces-tv They've also got the Sky channel number transposed too but, as that's the system I have, I was able to verify & amend that before posting.
No, I don't remember seeing it before either. Looking it up, it was episode 24. Since there were 142 made, and the remaining episodes being shown this week are more or less in order, hopefully there's plenty more to come yet.
Also watched a "Get Smart" but that wasn't as funny as I remembered it - all a bit corny so don't think I will bother next time it's on.

LOVED TOP CAT
More usual fare tonight and again don't think I had seen it before - nothing will be as funny as "Bilko" in ballet tights from last night. So, so funny.
Interesting to hear the reference to Waldorf Salad in tonight's show. It would be another 23 years before I'd heard of such a thing!
Yes, that rung a bell with me - we certainly wouldn't have known what the chef was talking about when it first aired in the UK!
I had seen this one before but seeing again made me appreciate it more...........................
When the chimp roller skated into the barracks while Bilko was talking to his men made me burst out laughing and I loved the way Phil Silvers ad-libbed when the chimpanzee did something unexpected.
Very funny.
