Top Ten American Sitcoms Ever Page 14

One of my favourite lyrics is the Cranberries' Salvation: 'To all those people doing lines: Don't do it.' That's that problem solved then. Simples.

At a 'Sex and the CIty' rescreening, female viewers voted Samantha the most inspiring character.

Who did you vote for?

I don't qualify.

Soap
Twin Peaks
Corner Gas ( really is Canadian)
Modern Family
Will & Grace
blackish
Monk
Puppets Who Kill (might be Canadian)
Arrested Development
Newhart

Has anyone mentioned Bilko?

Has anyone mentioned Bilko?

I would have done but there was no way I could have come up with another nine to make up the list. I did once mention Bilko under the "Top 10 British Sitcoms Ever" thread - probably, on reflection, not the ideal vehicle for it...

In no particular order:

Hancock's Half Hour
Dad's Army
Fawlty Towers
Fall & Rise of Reginald Perrin
Hi-De-Hi!
Are You Being Served?
Ever Decreasing Circles
Only Fools & Horses
Blackadder
Father Ted

Of course if we were including non-British shows, Bilko would be the undisputed number one.

I would struggle to make up 10 to be honest. Bilko would definitely be No. 1, then The Honeymooners, Big Bang Theory, Frasier.............................er, that's it.

Mork and Mindy, The Odd Couple, Golden Girls?

Happy Days was funny till Samuel Beckett wrote an episode. The humour became too subtle and he completely wrote out Fonzie. Just didn't work for me.

Was that written with Godot in mind?

That was shit too. Shut up guys, we've all been stood up.

M*A*S*H and Cheers for me plus possibly Soap. And that's about it.

You can catch Cheers re-runs anytime here. Teary

I think the top two have to be Family Guy and American Dad. It's what they excel at these days.

Tool Time
Rosanne
Beavis and Butthead
