Status report Page 5,970

Unimpressed Will Cam will monitor the situation.

What, monitor and report back on how the w#*k went? (no thanks!) Or did you mean the washing machine?

My status report is that I took my crazy pills last night and slept last kind of and now feel less compelled to write long rambling posts. (Sorry all! Slightly embarrassed, but oh well. If at least a fraction of what I wrote was amusing to someone and didn't annoy anyone too terribly much, I think it'll be alright.)

:D Yes, the washing machine?

Don't be embarrassed, there is no need. Your posts are always coherent, whatever the length.

Then my current status report is that I'm impressed with myself for being apparently coherent when I thought surely I was talking total nonsense. Although, probably not a great sign that its 2am, I'm on here, and am strongly considering not bothering with sleeping tonight...again. I even set an alarm telling me to go to bed, like 5 hours ago. But turned off my alarm and am staying awake. I'm like a petulant child who smashes the alarm clock and won't get out of bed in the morning to go to school...except the opposite of all that? I guess children also make a fuss about bedtime. I don't want to go to bed! What a ridiculous human being I am.

Are you sure my posts are always coherent? 'Always' might be a bit too generous.

Sleep at night, wake in the day, sounds simple but it's the only way to rest the mind. If you're not doing that and you're having to question if your posts are coherent then it's probably time for sleep to take priority over the great BCG. We'll all still be here in the morning, and who knows, someone may have even posted something!

Put up some meshing on my skylight on Saturday so I can leave it open without anything crawling in. Not very exiting but I live alone which severely restricts activities.

It works great though. I can leave the window open to let in a nice breeze and insects are barred from entering because of the meshing. Eventually I'll be able to remove the meshing and just have a small sign to keep bugs out.

One day we won't be - it's just a question of when.

I just bought some of that! I shall be giving my windows a good meshing soon.

I guess screened windows aren't the norm in the U.K., but they're almost ubiquitous here in the States. Not that most of the country is cool enough to open windows from April through September (March through October in this area.)

You get everything good!
(Well, not everything.)
Bloody air conditioning too, you jammy gits.

Life would be unbearable without it. This is a holiday weekend and yesterday it was 98F/37C with 95% humidity. Add in a large charcoal fire (spit-roasted pig and goat) and it was fairly brutal. Lots of cold beer, wine and sangria helped, but we still spent a good portion of the day indoors.

Summer is pretty horrible.
Bring on Autumn!
