I bought the NME the other day to get that covers CD and the article on the Manics made me want to *edited for legal rasons* their offices down to the ground. F**king idiots. They were arguing that its not just the 'music' that matters but everything to do with the band. In other words musicains aren't artists they are self-promoting/serving celebrities and the NME thinks this is a good thing!?! You don't go to the sistene chapel and say well its good but then i found out Michangelo got bummed with adds a certain je nais ses pas to the piece. Stupid NME. Yes what a band stands for is entertaining and may want to make you buy into whatever they are producing but the work stands alone. You can't add or take away from a song cos the band wear tight jeans!
