Big, Hole, Ring, Piece.......

That would also be wrong as (i) Big Ears is Ears in the plural and (ii) the clue is the wrong way round from the other three where ear precedes the word on the card..

Laughing out loud Horse, l love you, 'cos you are in a world of your own. Can I join you? :)

Thank you for your kind words Herc.

Clock, Tailors, Troubadours, Roses........I don't get it or understand why the left hand troubadour is exposing his winkle.

....ah, I've just got it.

Sweets.

After Eight, Quality Street, Fishermens Friends and Roses.

Hold on.

No.

The third one is Flake.

Or Tunes.

Or even Minstrels. :) That is they are all chocolates.

Well done Horse!! Dragged up from your lateral world. :D

Perhaps you would like to set us all one?

OK.

Clue 1 - Graham, Man

(Let me know as soon as you need Clue 2)

Oh, Five minutes have passed.

You are obviously struggling.

Clue 2 - George, Woman

That's got be an hour now.

I thought you were good at this game Herc but I'm virtually giving you the answer.

Clue 3 - Shirley, Man.

Horse, I'm only on here periodically (usually to synchronise with the ladies) and although I set these it doesn't make me any good at solving, not like what you is.

Anyway, you haven't said if it's a Connection or Sequence. :S

Victoria won't be pleased.

I was only teasing.

I think it is a connection.

Had never realised there was a distinction.

The final clue is:

Clue 4 - Sheila, Man.

Yes, it is a comedy connection.

Good luck with it.

You are more experienced at setting these questions than me so I've probably done it all wrong.

I will give you an additional word for each clue:

Clue 1 - Food
Clue 2 - Jazz
Clue 3 - Politics
Clue 4 - Morse

And here are further clues to the four clues:

Clue 1 - Gourmet
Clue 2 - Hat
Clue 3 - Brittain
Clue 4 - Thaw

So it is:

Clue 1 - Graham, Man, Food, Gourmet
Clue 2 - George. Woman, Jazz, Hat
Clue 3 - Shirley, Man, Politics, Brittain
Clue 4 - Sheila, Man, Morse, Thaw

Is it anything to do with h h h half an hour ?

Hello Firkin Wave

Yes.

Would you like to run us through the explanatory variables please?

While we wait, it is time for my special guest.

I am delighted to say that it is none other than Ambrose and his Orchestra:

I think Herc should do that, he's an expert. But Sheila Hancock may be one. Shirley Williams (The Queen of Politics) is another. Herc finish me off... If only Shirley was 61 years younger, then she could finish me off...

Yes - Sheila Hancock (married to John Thaw who played Inspector Morse) and Shirley Williams (politician who was the daughter of the famous novelist Vera Brittain) .

Now you need a counter leaper who was married to Treena and a self-styled Egg and Butter Man who when alive would finish anyone off on his tour bus allegedly.

Did you think we had just one special guest?

Well, we have two.

He's just flown in from a sell-out tour especially to be with us tonight.
