Good evening to you Davida. My oldest lad is off to a wedding for the weekend and his brother is going to house-sit his dog. The pooch normally had a walk at 6.30 am so I volunteered to do it ( he is 2 minutes up
the road from me). I set an alarm for 6.20 and somehow turned on an old alarm for 4.30am from a holiday trip. Stupid iPhone keeping all your alarms unless you delete them! To make matters worse my missus couldn't get back to sleep so she got up at 4.50am. I am meeting mates at 1pm for a pub lunch and afternoon drinks so will be in the doghouse later.
No Regrets? Page 3
Jealous. My boss is stuck with jury duty for some murder trial for the next 3 weeks, so I don't get days off, and have to do both her job and mine. It's such fun...
I'll have a pint for you
Quote: Davida Grimes @ 7th April 2017, 3:24 AMSaying 'an alumni' is like saying 'an gradatuates'. 'Alumni' is plural, 'alumnus' is the singular masculine, and 'alumna' is the feminine singular. Though I despite knowing that much, I don't know how to grammatically fix your statement, zooo. Ha!
Holy complicated word, Batman.
I hereby declare the grammatically correct word for my sentence is alumnoo.
Or something.
Sounds good to me!
Quote: keewik @ 6th April 2017, 12:02 PMLesson 1 - it is in fact 'youse'.
Ah, as in scouse.

That's what I like about the Greeks, they were not concerned about male/female descriptions. I presume alumnass (Phwoar) is feminine plural?

1) It's pronounced like 'ewes'.
2) it's Latin, in fact, not Greek.

Only winding you up keewik.
I did wonder but I'm not feeling too bright at the moment.
I always regret that most of the threads I start never stay on topic

I had that pint for you plus several more. The advantage of starting drinking at 1pm is that I'd had enough by 7pm, went home and watched my beloved QPR being beat by Brighton. I am now sober and will have a good sleep. I can do this because I was lucky enough to retire last May aged 50. I have enjoyed nearly a year off but now have my eye on a nice little job that has just come up and I am about to 'dip my toe back in'.
Quote: zooo @ 6th April 2017, 11:45 PMBretton Hall?! They have a hell of an alumni. Davida, tell him off.
(Alumni? Alumnus? I don't really know how to use that word.)
My first UCAS choice was Manchester but when I got rejected I lost interest and spent a few years in a world of clubbing and sleeping. When I finally did go to uni the course was so crap I only lasted 12 months. It was also the only degree course at the college and all the other courses were A level/BTEC so it didn't have a uni vibe.
I just noticed in my earlier post I spelt huge as hugh. I always get those words mixed up like I do with bass and base. Funny how I have blank spots with certain words.

I sympathise - don't like it, but "senior moment" >_<

Okay, to please mr Sunshine, I'll at least put in one regret to stay on topic, then get back to the off-topic fun. I regret spending all of my money in the past 3 or so weeks. I don't really even remember buying anything, or know what I bought. Manic spending sprees are such a blur. That's what I get for being certifiably mad. It was fun though, what I remember of it. Get paid on Monday. It'll be all right. I also regret that to I have another 160 days or so working at my job until I accrue my first 8 hours of paid time off. I don't understand how anyone manages to go on holiday in this country. I've only had one paid day off in my life. And I've been working steadily since I was 16. Maybe it's just my choice in career path. Healthcare is thoroughly fukt.
I don't drink these days, but am pleased you did so on my behalf! Your setup sounds lovely. A nice day at the pub on a Friday afternoon, a football match (though shame about the loss), and being retired at 50!? Now I'm REALLY jealous. I'm pretty sure I'm never going to be out of debt (got about $90,000 in student loans to deal with), never going to retire, and probably never going to own a home. I'm strangely mostly at peace with all that though. Definitely could be worse. Much much worse. I do try not to be just another whiny millennial (with limited success).
What's this "nice little job" you're considering taking on?
