Just read an article about Trump's failure to get his party to support his new healthcare act and it contained the above phrase in describing his style of speaking, which apparently did not impress his GOP colleagues at a meeting.
I had previously been struggling to describe this irritating aspect of his speech but this phrase sums it up perfectly. I saw him talking to a meeting of Truckers at the Whitehouse where he described his healthcare reform plan as "Great, a really great plan, everybody knows it is a great plan." Who speaks like that? Everybody did not 'know' it was a great plan. Many people opposed it and for differing reasons.
His use of 'cringe-inducing superlatives' makes him sound like a fool.
Well at least I know what to call this trait now.

Had this appeared in the paper I have bought for 30 years, I would have stopped buying it. To say it's inappropriate after what happened last week, and while this country is in, at best, a limbo, at worst, a holy mess is an understatement.
It must be some sort of a joke, or a bet dreamt up in the pub.

The Leg-it headline comes from a newspaper that uses the line "showing off her pins" and "barely there bikini" at least 5 times a day. For what it's worth I think May gets it on the pins, but Sturgeon will get more out of Brexit (or a Krankies look alike competition).

That's the hope I've been clinging on to - but I think this shows he doesn't even give a stuff about them either.
All he cares about is winning, so the more he loses (executive orders), the more time he will spend on golf course to get some 'wins' in to save face (though apparently, people he's played with say he changes his scorecard to be more in his favour if he doesn't like it, so he lies about that too).
Add 'complete and utter hypocrite' to his many other labels given his repeated criticism of Obama's time spent on golf course - also having said recently that he had no time for it as he'd be too busy being president . . . and out of well over 200 statements he's made in last 2 months, only a small fraction of those had any relationship with the truth after being fact-checked.
So my simple and obvious question to any die hard Trump supporter would be, if he's a proven pathological liar, why believe anything he says ever again? How can you trust anyone who looks you straight in the eye, and knowingly completely disrespects you by spouting nonsense right in your face? Or would you actually still buy a used car from him because you are that far gone you don't believe it could possibly be a shed?
I don't have any children myself but I have a 10 year old nephew who I adore - and I care about other people's kids anyway and therefore the planet because I'm a decent human being, but apparently being a total sociopath is no obstacle to getting into oval office according to many american people.
I don't think he is capable of thinking about concepts like the future, the planet at large, or other people.

Anyway I thought the Jocks had a once in a lifetime referendum a couple of years ago. I know life expectancy up there is lower that ours but it's not that low is it?
Anyway I think they need us more than we need them. Apparently if they'd voted to leave us last time they'd have been kicked out of the EU anyway.

One thing here always puzzles me - if Scotland is such a drain on British resources, why is the British government so reluctant for us to leave. I ask this as a genuine question. It doesn't make sense.
