Earworm

Have the George and Mildred TV theme stuck in my head now since I started back with that box set a couple of days ago.

Not an unpleasant theme but it's now driving me crazy! :S

The SAME four bars, over and over and over and over and over................again. The men in the white coats will be coming for me soon. :(

Being a regular Frasier watcher,I've got "Tossed salad and scrambled eggs..." indelibly in my brain.but I don't mind.

Do you mean the brassy first theme or the softer one they changed to? If it was the first one I was in your position about 6 weeks ago and only got over it when the theme changed.

Couldn't get the Steptoe & Son theme out of my head for a while. But that didn't bother me...such a nice and gentle tune.
The Dad's Army theme, on the other hand, began to annoy me after a while.

Yaarg! You've just started the Steptoe theme in my head. Oh well, at least it blots out the shitty Elvis song that was driving me mad.

Whoa, whoa, whoa whoa......

You know, I didn't notice it had changed. The one I am on at the moment and is stuck in my head is series 3.

:O Elvis? Shitty song!?! I remember Jonathan Ross saying on his Radio 2 (?) show many years back that "Indescribably Blue" was one of the worse songs he had ever heard - f**king tasteless cretin.

I love it.

I was never a fan. As a teenager, one look at him gave me the creeps. I used to tell my pals that I wouldn't like to meet him on a dark night. As to his music, there are 1 or 2 things that sound all right but I've never understood what the fuss was about.

Ahh, of course. This is more your taste :_

Looks like young Elvis had a stroke.

Try to imagine Screamin' Jay Hawkins singing this song. That would sound terriffic!

Just in case you didn't realise GB, what with you being a furriner - that soundtrack is actually Andy Stewart who used to do a very good Elvis impersonation so I thought it would appeal to keewik what with having all she (dis)likes in one singer. Laughing out loud

I was referring to the animated Elvis picture with the strange mouth movements.
I actually quite like the song (I know, that's a bit disturbing) and I think Hawkins should have performed it. "TROOOOOSER...!"

furriner

I really did look that one up in an online dictionary...feel a bit stupid now. :$

Anyway, Elvis was/is great. Don't care much for his early stuff (except for a few of the obvious classics) and the less said about his soundtrack music the better. But he became a wonderful soul and country singer from the late 60s on. Everyone should check out this phase of his career. Lots of amazing gems to discover.

My mother was a great Andy Stewart fan. I'm sure I remember hearing/seeing him doing the Elvis thing.

Ah! Something at last we agree on. Unless you're talking about Mr Costello.

You two obviously live together in a mental home for mentalists like hinge and bracket (minus one cock).
