The Obama administration was shit...according to Trump and his followers. But if their past actions don't interfere with his personal agenda (in this case these are 7 countries he has no personal business deals going on with) then it's suddenly ok for him to use them as a basis for his exec order and most probably as an excuse if he's going to fail bigly.

The list of 7 was where the next attack is likely to come from, i.e. prevention. Not going backwards to punish previous action. We will have to see what happens. At the moment no ban is in place. I think a new exec order may come soon, that's one option he has. I think that list of 7 can be seen as a trial run. Not the end.

I was on another forum a while back, mainly with only men posting, and it took them 3 years to rumble that I might not actually be packing the same junk in my trousers as them. I like to think this means I post fairly gender neutral views and don't throw girly tantrums which must be partly why it was oddly assumed I was a blerk. It was never intentional, but was interesting to know that all the replies I had over that length of time were based on assuming I was . . . and always wondered how different they might have been had they known I wasn't all along . . .

To be fair though, when Trumpists are screeching FAKE NEWS after every single thing people say (whether clearly factual and already seen on tape by millions, or otherwise - like the image I posted in good faith may well be) the claim fake news starts to lose its credibility somewhat.

Maybe you could agree on a new phrase to use when it's actually fake.

If I remember correctly, it was Hillary's campaign which started the screeching about fake news. I suppose the Trump supporters are just throwing it back in their faces. The media have already been caught spreading anti-Trump fake news, but of course all they have to do is issue a retraction and claim it was a mistake.

I just remembered how Dan Rather (the most famous news presenter in the country) and CBS News tried to swing the 2004 election by offering up fake documents from Bush's Air National Guard service two months before the polls opened.

The thing is, I've never said that Trump and his team haven't said some really stupid, untrue things. My entire point was that Trump didn't invent "fake news" and that the media has been complicit in spreading anti-Trump fake news of their own, while giving Democrat-uttered lies a pass most of the time. Democrat journalists outnumber Republicans 10 to 1, so while it's regrettable that their views influence their reporting, it's not exactly unexpected.
