Speaking of tasty beverages . . . red wine gives you cancer now. How irritating, as they'll be telling you spinach does next.
Most italians drink red wine every day and their risk of cancer as a nation is lower than ours.
I wish someone would just say it's a simple lack of common sense that increases your chances of developing cancer, and italians probably cancel out their related risk with their diet.
. . . so I'd like to post some good news. I learned just last month that simple builder's tea contains adequate antioxidants that actually 'help prevent cell damage', whereas from what I read before, I thought we virtually annihilated any health promoting properties (unlike other countries) by sticking milk in it. Hurrah, as I drink gallons of the stuff.
So enough of this scaremongering already. I may be a scot but never touch junk food and will continue to drink red wine because my wonderful late Father drank it every day just like an italian and was 86 when something else took him.
