Saxondale - Third series? Page 2

Will not hear a word against this show - achieves moments of comic genius IMO.

... so many clips I loved, but the one that stands out, is the episode where a certain "The Fast Show" character buddy was trying to rekindle the olden days with Tommy. The emphasis being on Tommy's "settle down" stage of life, Dido CD, Turning down the volume on the Hi-Fi, having a night in .... but most of all the Slippers, which he ordered himself out of the catalogue, as his feet swell up.

Just love the rapid blinking when he is starting to lose his temper.

CLASSIC!!!

I love the accent. Is it Nottingham?

I think so? ... must do a Google and see if I can confirm that.

.. just looked it up and they class his accent as "mild East Midlands accent"

Less Saxondale, more Partridge :)

A-ha!

... still love Alan's No.1 fan "the mentalist" :D

As usual with her work I think Morwenna Banks was the best part of it.

Why can't she have her own sitcom? (I missed that one-off she did last year)

... I loved the school girl character she played in Absolutely "It's Twoo, It's Twoo!!"

That's where Coogan identifies it as being from on the audio commentary of the 1st series, whilst berating some unnamed tabloid journo who complained that the accent doesn't exist in real life.

It is an excellent accent, and is North Notts.

If Coogan had spent a bit less time perfecting the accent, and a bit more time on the script, this might have been a better show. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad some of the people on this thread got such a lot of pleasure out of it, but for me it's mid range Coogan at best.

this was so boring when it was on!

never a good idea to have a kid sidekick

Hi Oliver, can you use capitals in your posts please? Makes things a lot easier to read for the rest of us. Thanks. :)

Firstly , check out how similar sivoxxl is to Mike Samson, he has been in Saxondale and Alan Partridge.

I would love to see a third series of Saxondale. It's a real gem. The attention to detail when talking about the pest control business and audio equipment is excellent . It shows some good research skills for sure.

I agree with the comment that Saxondale's character has been fully explored. But it's still a great show when you compare it to Mrs. Brown's whatevers, or Two Pints Of Lager and the cast of Hollyoaks. Tragic.

PS Raymond is the best character in Saxondale.
