I read the news today oh boy! Page 1,847

D Trump once inappropriately touched me too.
I was stood on the 18th green at Troon and he put his hands on my chest.
He pushed me and said Get outta the way you c**t.

Ain't it awesome Rod got a knighthood? I'd like to think if I could select someone, it'd be cos they lost a limb in battle, or discovered a cure for some fatal disease, or released 8460 political prisoners... But I guess the guy who crooned 'Young Turks' 30 years ago is awesome too in a way.

Just another day for him and another royalty.

Question for Da Butt. I've tried really hard not to get involved in this, but ...
I understand the loathing for Hilary Clinton, but are you still going to vote for the brainless, shit-stirring, Putin-loving arsehole that is Trump? Make America great? No, he'll make it the laughing stock of the rest of the world, except we'll be too busy worrying about his finger on the button. For god's sake don't vote for this self-obsessed clown.

I seem to remember similar things being said before Ronal Raygun was elected.

"Just when I thought I was out, they pull me right back in.."

I don't care that he was recorded saying naughty things in private that every other man has said in private.

I want to respond to this, but not for the poster's sake: I want to respond to this for the sake of any woman who may pass by and read the poster's quoted comment.

I'm a heterosexual male who has been in many a 'locker room situation'.. and I have never used myself nor ever ever heard others use the language that Trump was recorded saying, about sexually assaulting women and getting away with it, not even as a 'joke'. If anyone in any locker room that I've ever been in had said such a thing in the way that Trump did, at the very least they would have been ostracised and outed from the circle and any connected women would have been warned to stay away from such a creep. If such a thing had been said in my earshot, in my 'locker room' time as captain and/or manager, I would at the very least have sacked them on the spot and informed the Police.

Yes I am guilty of saying such things as "Phwoar! I'd give her one!" etc. in such private situations, but what Trump said? I'd never dream of such an horrendous thing and no-one that I can think of has ever spoken like that. The fact that the poster wrote such a comment says a lot more about him and the people with whom he associates than it does about other males.

My message to women who may pass by here is this: not all males think/speak like this. In fact, such men are in a small minority, in my opinion..

And Trump should be investigated and indicted, if any corroborating evidence of sexual assault comes to light. Lock up such creeps - they are a danger to women and real men should front up, grow a pair and speak out against such behaviour.

Thankyou.

Probably why no one ever said anything like that in front of you - you'd have grassed em.

I have heard comments such as Trump made in 'locker room situations' and in other situations and yes by creepy machismo type blokes. But saying awful things and actually doing them is two completely different things. People who talk like that are mostly just showing off in front of their cronies. And what about thinking awful things, what do we do about that? If Trump has committed a crime he should be punished, if no crime has been committed he shouldn't. If AMERICANS don't want him for President then don't vote him in. Sound like common sense? Yes it does.

Thanks for saying that, SSTT. It's what I've heard from a lot of American men. (And hopefully the majority of America in November.)

What I don't get is why this tape causes such an outrage at this stage of the campaign. I mean, it's completely in line with what he's said and done over the course of the last six months or so (to me he was ineligible from the get go). He talked bad of women, mocked a disabled person and said some racist things....all that on national TV. It's what you'd expect from him. I could understand this controversy if the voice on this tape belonged to the likes of Kofi Anan or Pope Francis.

To me he didn't overstep a red line with this conversation (especially since this happened 11 years ago)...he overstepped it several times since the beginning of the campaign.
But hey, HE wanted a mud wrestling match for a debate, now he has to live with it. So no sympathies from me there.

'locker room situations'

Sorry, but to me what he said doesn't sound like normal locker room talk.
The "locker room talks" I have been involved in, passive and active, sound more or less like this:

"Ooh, I'm such a great pussy-magnet. They're screaming for it, I'm giving them crumpets the time of their lives"

What Trump said can (!) be read as: "Some of them may find me repulsive, so what? What can they do, i'm rich and influental so they let me have my way with them anyway."

He doesn't even try to appear to be really attractive to them, he doesn't care. He sounds like a guy who thinks he's above the law and the social rules (like a member of the establishment he pretends to be fighting against).

No "locker room mate" of mine would say things like: " She let me shag her because I'm rich/my daddy is the principal of the school/ I was holding her at gunpoint...". Because that makes one look like a sad, lecherous git...not like a "locker room hero".

Anyway, as I said earlier, I'm surprised this old tape is giving him such a hard time now. He said equally ugly things during his presidential campaign.

I think the point was, saying you have done nasty things (particularly in a private conversation in a locker room or anywhere) is not the same as it being proven you have done them.

If the police need to investigate then the tape is out there, if there has there been an offence, of course he should be charged, and if women come forward with accusations of assault then the police should investigate.
