The Circuit: C4 Pilot

The writers, Dennis Kelly and Sharon Horgan have a great writing back catalogue, but ... this was downright odd, unfunny and pretty excruciating. It was woefully short on laughs for a comedy.

It had a stinking review in The Guardian, and a glowing one in The Telegraph...

I'm not sure how Horgan and Kelly could fashion this into a series, if it gets commissioned. It would have been a great 90-minute one-off - a 21st century Abigail's Party.

I enjoyed it, though.

I enjoyed this. Great casting, great dialogue and I thought there was good chemistry between the cast.

The humour was strong although a little inconsistent as it drifted off towards the end into some sad points but light and shade isn't a bad thing.

They've left plenty of options for development of story and I hope they get the opportunity.

They may squeeze a series out of this yet. I'm not sure that I'd watch it though.

PS Strood isn't an exclusive area!
