Sounds like you know nothing about Kaleidoscope.

I had previous researched who they were and although very laudable with the showings/charity, they are a lot of good to me if I live miles away and am not able to attend that easily.

My bone of contention is, for example with the BM archive of some 50,000 video tapes :-

Can I borrow one? NO!
Can I hire one? NO!
Can I have a copy of one? NO!
Can I buy one? NO!

And so his wonderful collection will forever fester in some dark storage facility never to be seen again.

No different to any other archive then. Or indeed when they languished in Bob's sheds.

But that's not in fact true. I'm sure many programmes will be made available via the BFI.

No/Yes as with the Beeb and ITV archives, which we ultimately all paid for in one way or another and should be public property, and maybe (just maybe!!) they will be available one day, but I suspect I will be long dead and gone and the progs. will then not hold any interest to anyone.

And while I am on my hot potato............I see they appeal (as others have done) for lost progs, but why should I let them have copies of what I have got if they do not reciprocate? No, f**k 'em.
