How do you help beat 'Sunday blues'?

Hi.

I don't mean to make this a really depressing thread or anything but I just wondered what people watch, or do, on Sundays, to help try and prevent an onslaught of said 'Sunday blues' on Sunday evenings.

I've been watching Limmy's Show recently and have seen a couple of episodes today, which cheered me up :) I'm on holiday at the moment but even so, any suggestions etc. would be warmly welcomed.

I retired 5 weeks ago, so I no longer have any blues on a Sunday.
I thoroughly reccomend it.

If only! I'll probably have to work in to my 70s at the rate things are going.

Our Will Cam is staggering back into his fancy 2 room hovel with out door faccilities.

Our Will Cam
Woman I have finally bloody packed it in, I've retired! Time to sup on the generous teet that Welsh bastard in that London has laid on for us working folk.

Mrs Our Will Cam
Thou idle bastard you've never had a job in thy idle life!

Our Will Cam
Why yon great ingrate, there was that time Bucks Fizz took off their skirts on that telly box, I worked up quite a sweat. And we had to listen to Terry Wogan describing it on next door's wireless through the wall.

Mrs Our Will Cam.
But your only bleeding 19 how can you retire?

Our Will Cam
Aye I was the oldest person in t'dole office, what with other folk been carried away pit collapses, rickets or being devoured by Peter Kay.

Mrs Our Will Cam and Our Will Cam Together.
All hail our dark lord and master, Garlic bread be thy name!

Our Will Cam
Aye I've got a job on t'side though, that Ken Loach was in t'dole office and he's going to make a documentary about my pitiful life.

Mrs Our Will Cam
What a coincidence so does yon whippett Sootyj got a job, as a benefits fraud assessor. What was that about yon illegal job?

Our Will Cam
Ooyah! There goes my benefits! Turned out shite again!

Pull back to reveal Our Will Cam's faithful whippet Sootyj has bitten Our Will Cam on his idle arse.

Best thing I can think of is to round up a few Catholics, Protestants and Jehovah's Witnesses, build a fire and burn them at the stake. It's these swine who've made Sunday depressing.

Laughing out loud Laughing out loud I've missed these little vignettes Sootyj. Thank you for making my enjoyable Sunday night even more enjoyable. Hug

I'd suggest wrapping one's self in bacofoil and sitting under a fan to help fight those blues. When I worked, Monday nights were my equivalent. Bah!

You're on holiday and you've got Sunday blues?

Is that because you've got to spend time with partner/kids/parents?

Apart from the fact I feel crap at the moment I don't seem to have Sunday blues. I'm on the way to Will's situation and I work Monday, Tuesday - off Wednesday - then back Thursday, Friday. That is in effect 2 weekends a week.

But that's also 2 Sunday nights!

Better than the 7 you have ... or rather....

:D

Get a second job. Work weekends and watch those Sunday blues disappear. And watch your income improve.

Or if the prospect of going to work causes "the blues" then get a more enjoyable job.

Nothing wrong with that if you have a job you like, which is what I had and did, and am now reaping the benefits of a doubly enhanced pension. :D

Also if you work beyond retirement you do not pay National Insurance.
