"Writing Comedy For Stage And Screen" A workshop held by BBC's Diane Messias
13th August 2016, 11am - 6pm & 14th August 2016, 11am - 6pm
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
This two-day workshop is centered on learning how to approach comedy writing for both TV and film, specifically: what makes a viable idea, why some ideas work and others don't, how your choices impact on the whole of the production, the importance of structure, what characters does your story need, what makes them real, why you need sub-plots and what they can do for you, how to create realistic, idiosyncratic dialogue for each character, what dialogue needs to do and how to write it, and where the jokes come from!
