I don't know enough about the birds I see hopping and waddling about out in the great outdoors, but yesterday I was lucky enough to spot a pair of partridges shuffling about.

I had a goldfinch right outside my kitchen window a few weeks ago.
There was a sparrow trapped in my Cauliflower bed at my allotment other day. It's covered in netting and I could not for the life of me see how it had got in.
So I killed it...........only joking.

Probably the only two left I haven't run over. Must be the stupidest bird ever.
I normally see a heron fly past the bottom of my garden. I'm always surprised by how big they look to me.

They're big birds. The ones we have here are almost 5 feet tall.

I'm not..
One of those pesky herons ate all 14 of my pond fish in one afternoon a few years ago. Some fish were quite big.
We have lots of seagulls around my house. But they only ever sit on rooves or fly over. I have never once seen one in a garden or on the ground.
That's kind of weird.
They are the c**ts of the bird world.

I saw a couple of them in my Mum's garden last week.
A seagull was hopping around on the parapet of my balcony just now, staring beadily at me through the window and making that clacking sound.
Living in the Cotswolds I see birds of prey occasionally if I'm out in the country at dusk and wish I had a decent camera so I could get some close up shots. I find birds very relaxing and when I lived in a high rise flat which overlooked a roof safe from cats I used to get regular visitors when I put food out. Over the years they became very trusting of me so I could get closer to them without them flying off. They were mostly groups of Starlings but there were two Finches that visited every day and would sit there watching the world go by. I think they were a couple because they were always together. There were also two crows who used to visit and would take food back to their nest nearby. When I used some binoculars I could see a tiny beak taking the food and a few months later that same baby crow started visiting for food with its parents which was very humbling. You can always tell a baby crow because they have fluffy grey feathers like they have just been using a hair dryer It was interesting to see how small birds like Finches could feed alongside Crows without fear but if a Pigeon came along the Crows would make them scarper. I've got nothing against Pigeons but they are greedy bastards and would bully the smaller birds so I think that's why Crows don't like them.
This sums up birds perfectly.
