YUP!! Great choice Horse - one of the best ever instrumentals. Duane's bass guitar (one of the few I mastered many years ago) and that sax is sheer magic.

Sonic Youth are one of my favourite bands and Kim is one of rock's female superstars. I was bummed out when she and Thurston split up their marriage and the band.

Here's a link to download all of the photos I took of the band in 2000. It's only a 15 MB file because it was an early digital camera with limited storage capacity. The first few photos were taken from my front row seat at a large amphitheater show where they were opening for Pearl Jam. I was ejected from the venue during their short set by a surly security guard who I'd previously had a confrontation with because he kept asking to see my ticket to "prove" that I was in the right seat. After the third time I asked him to please stop interrupting the performance and he walked away and came back with 3 big security personnel and told them that I'd been causing trouble. They wrestled me out of my seat and strangers sitting next to me complained loudly, but I was dragged away and kicked out. One of the guards whispered an apology and said that the first guy had told them that I was fighting and acting violently.
I demanded that they contact the head of security and he eventually arrived and decided that they were ejecting me for taking photos. I pointed out that signs at the venue clearly stated that still photography was allowed, but he said that digital cameras were verboten. I asked him why and he mumbled something about them being able to download faster. I was asking him what the eff that meant when they shoved me out the entrance to the venue.

Today is Willie Nelson's birthday. He's 83.
It's mine tomorrow, I'm not a celebrity but I've been told I'm pretty special as they keep sending a little yellow bus for me.
