YES! They live so long because they're mollycoddled from birth and have the best of everything including medical attention. I was amazed to discover the Queen Mother had bowel cancer, way back when most folk died from it.

She is so happy to be with you grateful Scotch in her little home at Hollyrood House. I bet you're so proud of her.

Surely having a Prime Minister AND a President is like having a coalition government?

What PM would want to vote for abolition of the Monarchy, since it would remove half of his/her power.

I see no politition that I would want as president of the UK.

~~~~~~
The Sovereign is our UK conterpart to the USA's 2nd amendment (The right to bear arms). The US citizens want it so that if they deem it necessary they can have an armed revolt against a bad Government.
In the UK the armed forces technically obey the Quenn, not Pariament, the oath of allegiance is:
I... swear by Almighty God that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Her Heirs and Successors, and that I will, as in duty bound, honestly and faithfully defend Her Majesty, Her Heirs and Successors, in Person, Crown and Dignity against all enemies, and will observe and obey all orders of Her Majesty, Her Heirs and Successors, and of the generals and officers set over me.
The Queen's main power is the right to dissolve Pariament and I guess if we had a really bad government she could do that and enforce it with the armed forces. Highly unlikely of course, just as unlikely as an armed revolt in the USA, but still there as a legal possibility.
So we don't need no ferking politition as a President.
I always find the idea that a piss faced old boot, who won't use her influence when the government won't pay for her boiler. Will apparently in case of civil war, take command of all of the nations armed forces.
It's on Sunday. I'm already nervous...and my body feels a bit exhausted from the weeks of hard training. I desperately need to relax the next three days.
Welcome back sweetheart! I may need your lingual expertise as I'm currently studying French at my local Adult Education Centre and I'm a bit shit.
Speaking as (of today), I always appreciated the extra day's holiday that the monarch bestowed on her legion of overworked and underpaid civil servants, but now, well - hmm. She's always sporting a really horrible look on her face, akin to all of the Corgis/Dorgis breaking wind at the same time and seems unable to delegate a number of her regal duties to her immediate family.
Maybe it's time to let Prince Charles to have a go?
I thought that it was HM Elizabeth, The Queen Mother who was usually 'grateful for a Scotch'?
I'll make it my business to learn the words and music so I can sing it next time I'm in the company of monarchist (though I tend to avoid them). Laughing out loud
You frightful bunch of anarchists! I'm standing to attention as I write about Her gracious Majesty, and saluting with my free hand.
