I thought you only had to pick up the dogs poo?
Quote: Lee @ 8th April 2016, 10:55 AM BSTThanks! I walk the dog everyday, so not totally lardy but now we can go for more walks in different places. Not that I'm complaining about my local route.
Think I'd rather go to a tea dance, I bought a new tuxedo especially!
P plates are by choice, Strumpet.
That looks like a lovely place for a walk.
I'd prefer a tea dance too. Perhaps we could hold one on Hunstanton green by the bandstand.
Flying to Orange County for a quick visit with the family before helping my son and his girlfriend drive their cars back to San Antonio. My flight to Vegas is delayed 2 hours due to rain in Sin City. But they say we may leave early, so I'll have to keep an eye on the flight status from this barstool.
barstool - 'mans best friend' lol I went to Vegas a few years ago and am dying to go back just so I can visit the Pawn Stars shop. Sad I know but I love those guys and then I would have to meet Danny "The Count" Koker at his garage who must be the most enthusiastic person on earth.
Right now I'm watching DVDs and preparing myself to return to work on Monday after two weeks off. Bollocks!
Brits seem to love Las Vegas, but I'm not sure why -- and I was born there (when the population was under 50,000.)
The last time I was there for any significant length of time I had a great chat with a couple of less-than-pleased Brits who shared my dislike for the city. We had a fun time moaning and they even walked away supporters of the Second Amendment. There's hope for you guys after all!
My son-in-law works with Chumlee's cousin; sounds like he's been in a bit of trouble lately.
I don't really have an issue with his gun ownership and cannabis usage charges but it was the sexual assault allegation that made me hope he hadn't been so stupid. He's not been charged with that aspect which is good and I don't think he's a gun nut or a drug dealer so I'm in his corner. I hope the show isn't cancelled because of this but it would be the ultimate irony if it was
I think the attraction of Vegas is the bright lights and glitz and glamour but someone living there will no doubt see past that and notice the less attractive aspects of living in the gambling capital of the world. I went there in 95 so I imagine it's very different now. My dad was a poker player who used to visit every april and november in the 90s for the world poker series and I went with him one year. I was only 19 so there wasn't much I could legally do.
Vegas is fun if you're with a group and there for only a couple of nights. My father is also a fanatical poker player. So is my son, so I guess it skips a generation because I couldn't care less about playing cards. I prefer a nice beer and good conversation.

HUGE Pawn Stars fan! Wish I had known about the shop and guys when I was there years ago. Business must be ridiculous now given TV show - or maybe just too many people there for a look.
Love their humour and how they act up with mutual abuse for cameras, much like Billy and Mark on Baggage Battles.
Anything to do with existing/old 'stuff' for upcycling (ie. Salvage Hunters) is good in my book - but unfortunately cannot watch Storage Hunters as I can't cope with Sean Kelly. Lovely bloke, but that auctioneer's chant, for me, is equivalent of flashing light to an epileptic.

Somewhere like Vegas can be overwhelming for people who have never been to a casino and it can be easy to spend a fortune and forget the consequences. When I was there I looked older than 21 so was able to play the slots and get drinks for a few days but eventually they started asking to see my passport and that is when I would have to do my Jesse Owens impression. My dad never went near the roulette and slots and would kick my arse if I did. He only played poker and never won that bracelet but back in the UK he was british champion at Omaha in 94 and European champion in 96 at 7 stud so he made a name for himself. He was asked to appear on the first series of Late Night Poker but decided not to because it was a large entry fee against a load of other pros.
Just touched down in Vegas.

Good to meet another Pawn Stars addict I know it's made for TV but it still has a family vibe to it and even Chum was working there for 5 years before the show started.
I like Vegas tacky capital of the world, my eldest son took his first steps there so remember it well. I remember when Excalibur and Luxor were first built.

Ben drove round London for the first time yesterday. And it wasn't anywhere near as stressful as he thought it would be.
Granted, it's very different mid-morning at a weekend compared to, say, rush hour during the week, but it's still a league above my usual small town/city driving.
The absolute dearth of parking in central London is frustrating though. I was bursting for the toilet, but couldn't pull over anywhere to nip into a toilet.
And I drove straight past Borough market which I would have loved to quickly nip into, but had to keep driving instead.
The reason for my trip was that I was meeting someone in Elephant and Castle at West Square. It's a lovely little garden tucked away which contains several mulberry trees which are particularly curious beasts.
Someone wrote a blog about it a while back and put up some pictures here: https://londondiaryblog.wordpress.com/2015/02/13/west-square-bradshaws-hand-book-no-93-2/
Laying flat on my back on the sofa, watching the most recent episode of Agents Of Shield and eating cherry flavoured tic tacs
