Things that piss you off Page 1,659

Would it annoy you if they slagged off Scientology but were respectful to Christianity?

I think a lot of people probably follow the 'punch up not down' philosophy. And since Christianity is probably the majority religion here they feel more comfortable targeting it.

Comedians (usually on panel shows) who are abusive and at times blasphemous about Christianity but show other religions respect. I am an atheist but I am at all times respectful of EVERYONES beliefs. Either criticise all or none.

That'll be because no-one fears Christians. No real potential consequences there, so relatively safe to mock. Brings to mind one of my mottos which is "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should."

Pretty much rule no1 to being a good Christian - Forgiveness

That's why I always forgive Zooo everytime she mocks and insults me because of my beliefs

To use words of the legend that is Bill Hicks:

"Hey buddy, we're Christians and we don't like what you said."
"Then forgive me." Huh?

And he was 100% correct !

I can be very forgiving of Blair, he got a Labour government in when it was doubtful anyone else could (Major beat Kinnock FFS). He reversed a lot of the cuts and reinvested heavily in schools and hospitals.
If he hadn't the NHS would have collapsed completely (sort of like it is at the moment).
Made benefits humane and brought market forces in positively in to lots of areas (the council services and disability payments the cons are currently slashing).
The Gulf War was a mistake of which the UK paid a tiny role. The Kosovan war prevented probably more than one European genocide, not to mention the Northern Ireland agreement. As for Afghanistan it's the same situation as Syria at the moment and I think we can all agree just how well none intervention is working there.
He was the face of successful, electable, Labour not socialism, socialism's dead as dog shit.
And as long as he's treated with disdain by his own party we're at the mercy of the real arseholes in the Conservative Party.

I never voted for Blair, mostly because I didn't vote at all in 2001 or 2005, but I always thought he was a decent PM too.

Definitely agree with this.

If they said half the things about Islam that they say about Christianity they would be the subject of a fatwa.

Bearing in mind they don't believe in God which God don't they believe in?

Weren't everyone who voted for Blair Tories?

As Ricky Gervais says, atheists don't believe in 3000 gods, religious people don't believe in 2999.

Ah the oracle...

One of the worlds great philosophers

Ricky f**kin Gervais!

Pfffffff

I think Dara O'Briain said it best when he said
"The reason I don't take the piss out of the Muslims is because I don't know anything about that religion........and neither do you"

It hasn't collapsed now
It's struggling just like it did under Labour
Most of it due to an ever increasing population putting a strain on all services

New Labour spent a hell of a lot of money we didn't have
And cosied up to big business as well as any Tories could have done.

Blair was a C**t
Just like Cameron is a C**t

Oh the NHS is a complex question, but part of the problem is it receives per patient 30% or 50% then any similar health provision in any country.

Which means you have to start thinking about where that money is going to come from?

And every government spends what it doesn't have, it's how they stimulate the economy. The Conservatives have in real terms though spent far more and far less wisely.
