I enjoyed the cameos, they added to the campiness and spirit of the piece. Plus I did like that everything Frank did was totally in character, the stuff with the new phone, Boris Johnson and the rest, they didn't compromise.
Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em Page 10
Quote: Gordon Bennett @ 18th March 2016, 11:09 PM GMTWhat's really bad is that I had to endure John Bishop and that wannabe tough guy from EastEnders before the sketch.
Yup, both get on my tits.
Gemma Arterton was good. She should head up "Some fathers do ave em".
...
I'm in love with Gemma Arterton, okay. I just want to watch her on TV all the time. Okay. ... Well screw you lot then.
She's much too young to be a baby in the 1970s.
I Thought it was an excellent addition to Sport Relief. I loved the sketch, it was really funny and I think they should do a spin off series of this or maybe a Frank Spencer film. That would be amazing if they did that.
Here's the original roller skating episode Frank Spencer
Nice thought George, but I fear he is too old now and it just wouldn't be the same.
I haven't watched it because I can never watch those charity things. Too much self-satisfied luvvies.
So apparently it was good. If it comes on You=Tube I'll try to watch it.
So why the surprise about Michelle Dotrice? She was never a great beauty and is about 40 years older now so obviously she has "aged". Has she succombed to plastic surgery or rejected it?

It's supposed to be appearing on BBC Store, so won't be on YouTube.

"You're right, me mate!"
Michele Dotrice ca. 1975 is bloody shagaliscious!
I watched it on YouTube. Perhaps it's been taken down.

Chaaaaaaapers!!!
Regarding the character consistency, it was well-maintained for the most part, but I did wonder why he knew the cyclist at the end but nobody previously. And reading a map while driving is a bit much even for Frank, isn't it? That bit felt a bit more Mr Bean, I thought.
Michele Dotrice - not half bad as a young lady!
