March 9: BBC open submissions: Comedy scripts  Page 3

March is next week and there's still no opening or closing date on the site. Anybody found any information at all?

Maybe it's always March the 9th? Just work on your script anyway. (Or get a friendly freelancer to look at it instead... I quite like the weird stuff.)

Yep, just start working on it regardless, then whenever the windows does open, you'll have hit the ground rolling!

* Need to take own advice here...*

Luckily I have a script from a 15 minute script competition I can lengthen to 30 minutes and send in.

That sounds like a bad idea but it really came in at about 17-18 minutes anyway, and that was with cutting the story back to fit in (near) the time limit. Just have to decompress it, change a character that didn't work a bit, add one extra scene, and let the characters have a few more jokes and I'm done!

Window announced: 14th March - 4th April: http://www.bbc.co.uk/writersroom/opportunities/script-room

Thanks.

My fingers are now a blur across the keyboard.

Thought of getting your eyes checked?

Excellent. Just need to write a treatment. Script is ready, I think... Wondering if I should pass it through Script Angel first.

Hi, for anyone looking for some good advice on entering the BBC writersroom, we asked 2014 winner Laurence Tratalos to give us some tips. Hope its useful:

Just sent mine in!

That was quite close to the wire!
