Nathan Barley was quite clever.
Cleverest sitcom? Page 3
Moving Wallpaper has to be up there as pretty clever surely. Making a sitcom about making an existing TV drama.
As far as recent stuff, i think peep show was incredibly clever, the internal dialogue devise must have had ever writer at the time thinking 'why didnt i think of that?' a simple devise that opened up barrel's of minable material, and used to devestating effect (well 1 to 3 at least)
Oh yes, Peep Show. I agree.
Bottom.
Same to you.
Just thought- Till Death us do Part was very clever. Johnny Speight's satire in it was out of this world.
The more I think about it, the more I think are clever!
Obviously Yes, Minister which I *don't* think is as clever as The Thick of It as the latter uses similar topics but in the modern-day world. Everything about it is clever: scripts/characters/filming/content.
Nathan Barley was *very* clever. So clever a lot of people didn't get it, I reckon.
Red Dwarf's plots are also very clever the more I think about them. The concepts of Justice, Back to Reality, Demons & Angels, The Inquisitor to name just a few!

INFIDEL!
clever != good
Does that make me more "fidelous"..?
Dan
Clever most certainly does not necessarily equal good. Although it can. BUT I renounce any claims that The Thick of It is any cleverer than Yes Minister. Pretty much level perhaps, but not better. Ohhhhnonononono.

One line to prove it:
"Get the f**k in, or f**k the f**k off"
(Although I have no proof to confirm the rumour that this was simply a Yes, Minister cut scene that later found it's way into The Thick of It)
Dan
Look Around You was superbly clever!

On a totally unrelated topic, the "Bobbing Along" sequence and song from Bedknobs and Broomsticks was originally for (and I think filmed but cut from) Mary Poppins.
Anyway.
