Jest App Comedy

Hi everyone,

Firstly, if this isn't allowed here let me know and I'll delete this post.

I'm a co-founder from an app called Jest and we're looking for a few opinions from some people who are passionate about comedy (and look who we found!). We're looking to build a service to help independent comediens connect with audiences and help people find new comedy.

If you want to find out a bit more about us our websites here: www.jestapp.co.uk

We've got a really short survey here: www.jestapp.co.uk/survey

If you've got any questions ask away! I'll stick around for a while.

What makes you stand out from potential competitors such as YPlan?

That's a really great question!

We feel (and at the moment it really is just a feeling) that YPlan is really good at providing a wide breadth of lots of different events but it generic-ness is also its largest flaw. By not being generic we can hopefully provide a better service and better content.

We're looking at a SongKick style approach at the moment if you've heard of them?

Yeah, I see where you guys are coming from. I think it would be cool if the app had some features similar to Songkick's where you could track your favourite artists (comedians in this case).

Also, I'd suggest a genre filter so users can look at just stand-up or sketch or open mics etc. if they wish.
