The Ghost of Peter Sellers - Documentary

We wanted to let you know that we are producing a feature documentary about a 17th Century pirate comedy shot in Cyprus in 1973 starring Peter Sellers and Spike Milligan (Ghost in the Noonday Sun).

It's an incredible story of a £2million production that descended into chaos, ultimately culminating in the film being shelved by Columbia.

It is being directed by Peter Medak (The Krays 1990, The Ruling Class 1971) and is an incredible testament to British comedy of the 70's and the genius talents of Sellers and Milligan and the other host of British comedians in the film.

We are 70% way through shooting and are running a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to complete it. It would be amazing If anyone wanted to contribute and be a part of this journey.

So does it include lots of footage of them recording and cocking up? Is the finished film included?
Or is it a reconstruction of the filming?

If you're 70% of the way through you should include some film for interested sponsors.

We haven't uncovered any 'making of' footage from 73 but we do have some 8mm reels from Tony Franciosa's widow.

The original film has reverted back to the original producer. We are permitted to use clips in our movie and we are sure that this will lead to the 'negative' of the film being rescanned and the film properly released. After 43 years it's more about being a testament to 2 comedic genius talents of Sellers and Milligan. There are some absolutely incredible scenes and insane comedy performances.
