I'm not going to start a new thread on Jazz but it can be lumped in here.
There's a new Part Work series out now of Jazz albums on vinyl. The first part is "Kind of Blue" by Miles Davis. "Only" £4.99 with a magazine too.

Right - music buffs:
I've started on a 'mixtape' for my friend, and the theme/link is track 1 is by a solo artist, track 2 is by a group with 2 members, track 3 is a group with 3 members etc...
It's a 10-track CD, and I've got the first 9 sorted, but I don't think I've got any ten-member bands in my library. Any suggestions (apart from "just leave it at 9 tracks!")?
As long as the band has ten official members at the time of recording an album, it counts.
Any help much appreciated!

If you count hangers on - UB40 also qualify, but not at time of recording. Gypsy Kings were sizeable (but I've not counted). Also consider a large Jazz band or a tiny Brass band.

Or you could count the members of The Mothers Of Invention on each of their albums...they always had lots of personnel changes. There must have been ten of them at the same time at one point or another. Same goes for Parliament/Funkadelic.

How weird - I was just looking through my mum's collection and came across Bellowhead. They've got 11 members - if I hear something I like from them I might stretch the disc to 11 tracks (or 12 if I can find another act to round it off nicely).
I've just discovered Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros - they've got 10 on their most recent album.
