PM'd you steve but here's my advice
Hi Steve
Ok to start at the beginning here's a few facts
1 There is no reliable career path for comedy writers, the BBC and prodcos will only pick you up when you're an established name.
2 Far more people want to sell comedy than there is a market for.
3 I've never heard of anyone getting work from Sickipedia, but I have heard a lot of people complain of getting their jokes stolen from there.
4 No one made a career from a generic joke twitter feed. If you're really good and you comment on other peoples posts you might get somewhere. If you think someone's recruiting trust me it's for someone experineced.
5 The only truly reliable way of making a career in comedy writing is to be a success, either as a standup comic or as a writer through the various open entry contests for comedy (newsjack etc) or general plays etc.
6 If you don't want to do standup or don't already know any succesful standups forget writing for standups. You can try writing letters to standups you like and hope for the best. But generally comedy is terribly personal and people only respond to their stuff and proved they have what it takes.
7 There are work for hire sites like Upwork where I earn a scratch, trust me though you need to dedicate atleast a year of doing shit work before you make anything more than hard earned pocket money.
9 Build a rep as quickly as possible. News Revue, Treason Newsjack etc all need jokes all pay. A credit on newsjack is a credit on an award winning radio show, news revue is a credit on an award winning, guiness book of record stage show.
10 Remember your credo must be "why would someone I don't know give me money for something I wrote or even read it?" When you have a convincing answer for that you maybe getting somewhere.
11 Try kindles but read a good guide on how to produce them properly first.
good luck
