Oh dear! Just realised those laughing faces are maybe inappropriate.
Didn't realise my tongue in cheek would induce such hilarity. Fortunately no one was killed, so maybe one would have been more appropriate.

I really think people are too lazy to revolt.
They'd get a few crazies locking themselves in their basements with all their guns and a few cans of food. But what else is bloody new.
The revolution will be lead by Ted Nugent:
Him and his army of KKK rejects and overweight rednecks will conquer the White House where they roast President Obama on a barbecue grill calling him a racist communist. Ted will become President and his song Cat Scratch Fever the new national anthem.
It's not often that a man with a bow isn't sexy. But he's managed it.
Don't suppose you would want his arrow in you then.

The sort of bloody fight that would result if the government began kicking down the doors of hundreds of millions of American homes in order to confiscate hundreds of millions of firearms in direct violation of the constitution.

You underestimate the support for gun rights in this country. There is broad support that extends across state lines, political parties, genders, races and incomes. There's a reason that public opinion on the need for more gun control laws is at an all-time low, despite the constant yammering from our elected leaders. Leaders who are protected 24/7 by armed bodyguards, I might add.

How come with all these guns in circulation, whenever a loony goes on a rampage, they rarely get shot before they've already killed countless people? You clearly haven't got nearly enough guns in circulation. Or the people that have them are useless at shooting bad guys.

Because the shooters choose targets which have been helpfully declared gun-free zones, so law-abiding citizens aren't legally allowed to carry weapons. Like shooting fish in a barrel...
Not a day goes by that an armed citizen doesn't confront an armed criminal.
The governor of this great state of Texas is a wheelchair-bound paraplegic, but he has quite a strong spine:

Oh no, the 'bad guys' cheat.
So really it has got to be either everyone has a gun or no one.
Maybe it should be made compulsory that every man woman and child has to carry a gun at all times........that'll fox those sneaky bad guys.

Have you noticed how all the people who want guns are often really aggressive.
Great mix...
Mind you, the Governor should get something like this sorted out.
Pretty cool.
The US gun thing is a mixture of civil rights and culture.
It's complex.
That said it's odd that freedom of religion and speech have plenty of add on laws. For an eminently sensible reasons, no one wants freedom of speech for spys or child pornographers. And neither should freedom of worship apply to terrorist supporters or criminal scammers.
But the idea that the founding fathers were writing legislation around militias and gun ownership that applies today. When none of them could even imagine a Maxim patent machine gun, is daft.
Nb I'd like to contradict myself in that the first repeating gun, was actually invented in 1722. The Puckle was also the first Islamophobic gun, as it fired square bullets to hurt Muslim victims more. But only nice round ones for Christians. I have no idea what it shot at Jews or Aetheists. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puckle_gun
I just don't understand the widespread overreaction. Surely 75% (at the very least) of the people worrying about how Obama's trying to steal their weapons won't even be affected by stricter laws. No one's going to take any guns off normal, sensible people like Dabutt. They're just going to make it harder for criminals and psychopaths to get them. So what on earth's the problem?
