You have to be old like me to remember "Trapper" in the earlier M*A*S*H TV episodes - died aged 82, of complications from pneumonia.
RIP Wayne Rogers
Sad news.
As with OFAH (Grandad/Uncle Albert) I can't decide which "sidekick" I prefer, Trapper or B.J. Both had their very own personality. Trapper was a rough brat with heart, B.J. a charming, a bit more sophisticated scallywag. I liked them both.
RIP Wayne
Yes, I agree. It was the same with the colonels, and I think the first one Henry Blake just edged it for me - I liked his quirkiness.
Harry Morgan (Col. Sherman T. Potter) to me, was always Joe Friday's sidekick in Dragnet - now you have to be really old to remember that!!
No Herc I don't remember Dragnet. My that some kind of TV TV?
Anyway - yes RIP Trapper John. I think I preferred him. They made a good duo with Hawkeye.

You young whippersnapper you - Dragnet was the must see slick American cop show, along with The Untouchables and Highway Patrol.
I watched the Untouchables if I was allowed to stay up late - usually if we stayed at my Nan's because Mum and Dad had gone out for the night.
By the way M*A*S*H is on now on True Entertainment although I think BJ is in this one.

They were showing Dragnet on German TV in the early 90s. I remember coming home from school every day around noon watching the last few minutes of it. Then I was having lunch while watching Sledge Hammer!. Sledge Hammer! was one of my favourite shows back then...stupid boy!

It was in colour...and I remember Harry Morgan being in it.
Yeah, that's got to be the late 60s series, which was in colour and I don't remember ever seeing.
We hard aficionados prefer the original B&W series.
