Nick Lowe is on SOT70s right now - I love the Sound of Breaking Glass.

Dave Vanian of the Damned will be on in the next hour. I love the Damned. Their early punky stuff was energetic but tinged with humour. Then they went Goth and Anything is one of my favourite albums with the title track and their covers of Eloise and Alone again or.

Vanian has such an underrated voice and Rat is a fantastic drummer. Still debating whether to go to their Royal Albert Hall show next year to mark their 40th anniversary.

Is it really? I do love that album - especially side 3.

Just seen Family at Kentish Town. A fantastic show. My namesake Roger Chapman still had a great voice and I was dancing in the aisles to Burlesque, In My Own Time and My Friend the sun. Fantastic evening.

Happy Birthday Paul Rodgers!

Happy Birthday Paul Rodgers!

One of the greatest ever rock voices. Listen to Free's first album - Tons of Sobs. One of my favourite ever albums.

OK you guys are expert at music. So please can you explain Bob Dylan's "Christmas in the Hart" Album. I was a big Bob Dylan fan, but now nothing makes sense any more. He's got a serious problem with Christmas ! Why ? I know he's not Christian, but why ? I'm off to wash my ears out.

I think he (still) IS Christian. He even made 3 overly preachy Christian albums in the early 80s (Slow Train Coming, Saved and Shot Of Love). But he's no "missionary" anymore.

Still, why recording an album worth of Christmas song? I really don't know...that's the sort of thing people like Michael Bolton or Celine Dion normally do.

I think he IS Christian.

I thought his ego was stratospheric, you mean he believes there is someone above him ? Or is it just a cover ? Still doesn't explain musical suicide that is Christmas in the Hart (dagger through it more like).

I think it was Christmas Eve I saw Alvin Stardust on the Morecambe and Wise show.

It was from the period that he was on Stiff and he he was wearing one of their t-shirts with the slogan "We came, we saw, we left."
