One for Oldrocker:

As an American, that Live Aid performance was literally my only exposure to the Quo. I met the dear departed Oldrocker in London last year and he was a charming fellow, so I'll dig deeper into their catalog in tribute to Dave. Rest in peace, friend.

I've been Quoing for just under 40 years now.

I love Aquostic and off to Wolves Civic on April 23 to see the concert live !

Perhaps we should do a Status Quo week(-end) here...

Many moons ago Oldrocker posted this - "don't mess with me when it comes to old time rock and roll!", which I kept in a Word doc. along with several oldies I was going to hit him with on the Let's All Play a Game thread as I don't think he realised just how old was at the time and was/am an ancient rocker meself.
Now it's too late.............. :( , but I hope he is looking down now - so this is for you mate, so rest rock and roll in peace. :)

Blue For You - Status Quo

He was a bit of a Beatles nut as well, wasn't he. And even saw them live in the early days on a shared bill.

As am I George and I too saw them live in the Spring of 1963 when they were second billing to Roy Orbison, who I primarily went to see. By the time the tour got going though The Beatles were just starting to go meteoric, nevertheless they closed the first half with RO closing the show, and I remember you literally could not hear The Beatles as the screaming was incessant from the moment they came on. Absolute madness, but a night I will never forget. Cool

So why didn't you stop screaming then, you silly old eejit?

Couldn't help it, wet meself, so took me y-fronts off and threw them on the stage.

Paper Plane

Just seen the New York Dolls on Sounds of the 70s Part 2....................what a load of posing talentless twats and as for the lead singer trying to be a poor man's Mick Jagger, well words fail me - he couldn't sing himself out of a paper bag.

Utter bollocks.

David Johansen. I liked him in his Buster Pointdexter persona:

But I think you're a bit too harsh on the Dolls. Maybe you don't like their camp/transsexual theatrics on stage but their music was stripped down and raw no nonsense rock n roll, at least on their debut.

Un-feckin'-believable!:

Now you are talking - that man had more talent in his pinkie than the entire Dolls put together - load of talentless shit.

New Bowie album in January!
