Very looking forward to it. QI belongs to Friday night's TV schedule like my fist does on Justin Bieber's face.
The news of Stephen Fry leaving the show after this series makes me a bit sad. On the other hand, Sandi Toksvig is the best possible replacement imo.

I don't find Sandi Toksvig funny. She's amusing at best but just a double-whammy of disappointment.
Still, we have this series and we have good ol' Dave.
Went off QI many years ago - for me it became so formulaic.
I thought Sandi Toksvig left The News Quiz to concentrate on becoming a politician?
Maybe Stephen will be a panellist on the first episode.

I thought that too, but QI isn't really political, so that may be the difference?
I still like watching QI and tend to wait for the later XL edition a day/fortnight/year later depending on BBC Two's scheduling whims.

Doesn't he have a bit of a reputation of rambling off of the point and annoying the other panellists though? I can't remember where I read or dreamt this fact though?
I personally adore his surreal flights of fancy. I also wonder whether John Sessions will ever return, ditto Rory McGrath or was he the mysterious guest who demanded to see the questions in advance?

AKA Porky The Poet. I once read Jupitus' book about his stint as a breakfast DJ on BBC6 Music. He came across a little like Danny Baker - i.e. a bit of a music snob. He's great mates with socialist songster Billy Bragg though and even appeared in his 'Sexuality' (which is a fabulous song) video.
I must Google who has been on QI over the years as I'm sure I read something similar once. Sometimes the regular panelists are rather unctuous towards newcomers - Clare Balding and Trevor Noel's appearances are prime examples of that kind of behaviour.

Clarkson always got some awkward aggression from Sean Lock, as did Rory McGrath. I think he doesn't like smugness.
Sometimes with first timers I think it's just because their new and not quite fully relaxed.
When they have the occasional Aussie or American (or South African) I assume their maybe not long time viewers of the show.

Absolutely - after all, it's only polite to give newbies a chance.
The Aussie/NZ/South African component has snuck in over the past few seasons. I seem to recall a thread on the L season discussing whether these individuals were actually amusing to their countrymen/women.
I was enjoying the episode, I especially liked the teasing between Lucas and Noble (which part of the body could you do without and still live?).
Noble's spermbank anecdote was a bit strange though.

I liked that too - the fraternal handshakes following each round of badinage was especially amusing. Lucas' gentle ribbing of Fry was funny too.
I think I'll dub my former boss 'Typhoid Mary' as he refused to take any time off when he was ill. Pffffttt.
I liked the reference to "A dishevelled nun" during QIXL.

Sean Lock definitely does not like Clarkson, in fact he once put him in Room 101. Lock dislikes him not for smugness, but for the fact that he's a brash, ignorant blowhard who says stupid things like "The French eat garlic and don't shave under their arms, the Spanish poke holes in bulls and can't cook, and the Germans are ready for another war."
As for Rory McGrath, who can blame Lock for going after him that episode?
