I once wrote on the 'only connect' blog that if you didn't know your 7 X tables from your periodic tables - then no need to apply.
Only Connect Page 12
Okay, here's one for you.
What connects:
Elizabeth Taylor
Bob Hope
Jerry Springer
Kiefer Sutherland.
OK, as this is dragging on and the main requester (a certain Mr. S Sunshine) has posted nowt, I will give you the 4 groups, but you don't get so many points.
Only Fools & Horses Characters
Parts of a Bolt Action Rifle
Actors who have played Dr Watson on TV or in films
BBC Radio DJs

Ah, damnit. Good one.

Thank you zooo, and the 4 x 4 groups are?
It would be more than a little tenuous to include 'Dave' as an OFAH character but it's the only category into which it fits.
Surely, a bolt-action rifle doesn't have a dave?
I can't find a Mr Dave who's portrayed Watson in films or on TV
And I can't find a Mr Dave who's presented a BBC radio music programme.
On that basis, I have to go:
Only Fools & Horses Characters: Denzil, Dave, Jevon, Arnie
Parts of a Bolt Action Rifle: Barrel, Trigger, Butt, Bolt
Actors who have played Dr Watson on TV or in films: Bruce, Mills, Young, Stock
BBC Radio DJs: Harris, Freeman, Pearce, Dell

Correct! And on reflection I tend to agree with you regarding the "character" of Dave, so probably that is why they did not use it.
Oh, and by the way.............

Yes, they were indeed.
Bob Hope is quite widely known as birth-Brit but Liz Taylor's birthplace comes as a shock to many.

Umm, no surprise to me as always looked on her as an English Rose - I think the "odd one out" would be Kiefer Sutherland, but that's the sort of trivia you amass by watching chat shows.
