Fear The Walking Dead Page 2

Oh I think I've read somewhere once that they don't use the "z word" because the concept of it all is supposed to be out of this world. The people that inhabit that reality are unprepared. There is no such thing as zombie movies, myths or legends. I think the same thing applies in some super hero universes like Superman's where there are no comics, etc about beings like him (at least until he inspired them).

Northerners use it as a term of derision for southerners, but people in the south have reclaimed it as their own -- sort of like the n-word.

Like it.

Wow, overthinking it or what. (Them, not you). OR... Calling them 'zombies' reminds you what a f**king stupid concept the whole thing is... Not that I don't like it as a show.

I think you're right. The show obviously has a very serious tone, especially in regards to Rick and him using that word would feel unnatural.

Yeah, the word 'zombies' would sound kind of ridiculous in a serious scene.

I don't read the comic, do they use the word in that?

Nope.

Just watched episode two and things are really beginning to kick off. :D

I thought it was really good. Started slow, but to be expected.

I enjoyed it.

Main thought from watching first two eps: if you take out your f**king earphones now and again you might be able to tell what's going on around you and probably won't die so f**king soon.

Bloody teenagers.

:D

To elaborate on this. I am really enjoying the build up, although it might be a little slow at times, I get on the edge of my seat with the sense of impending doom during the scenes where it looks like the "outbreak" my happen at any moment. You just know that the end of the world will happen at any moment, cities will be wiped out fast.

I'm glad we haven't seen patient zero yet, although I assume we will later during some flashback episodes. But for the meanwhile we get to enjoy everything going to shit.

I really enjoy the fact that we who have seen The Walking Dead know what the aftermath is going to be. It's like watching these people and thinking, yeah you have know idea what's about to happen.

It reminds me SOOOO much of The Last of Us first 10 minutes, where everyone is freaking out and has no idea what's going on. It's intense as f**k! Love it! I want more!

I'm really enjoying it too.
It is a bit frustrating when they're hanging around, faffing aimlessly at home, and we know they should be stuffing food, water, medical supplies and weapons into a bag, choosing the cool zombie killing outfit that they will be stuck in for the next 6 months, and getting the f**k out of there. But that's unavoidable.

It would be great if one of the characters is introduced coming home from a costume party and forced to be dressed like Dracula for a few months.

"Aw shit, now there's vampires too?!"

"No, no. This is just a costume!"

"You could at least take the teeth out!"

"But then I would look silly?"

Laughing out loud

Or a massive hotdog.

Even better!
