He's just talking bullshit. He says the song is about a little girl and her mother standing on a sidewalk. They see two dogs in the middle of the road doing...things (i.e. f**king). The girl asks her mum: "What are they doing?" The mother replies: "Well, you know, one dog is blind, the other one is pushing him to the other side"

I did know the Nasal Boys but Glueams were new to me. I like both songs although I have problems in understandig the lyrics of the Glueams one.
The punk era often gets overlooked here in Switzerland, a very underrated phase of popular Swiss music which is a shame because there were some really good Swiss punk bands in the late 70s and early 80s. I've seen a documentary on Swiss punk a few years ago and was surprised by the high quality of much of the stuff I've never heard of.

Otto Waalkes is one of the greats of the German comedy scene. I love him since my earliest childhood days. I have each of his CDs between 1972 and the mid 80s (after that he became a bit shit but that's a different story). He's also a very talented musician, his spoof cover versions are hilarious. I didn't get all of his jokes when I was a little boy, especially not the dirty ones, but I always loved his musical numbers, that's why I remembered the "Tiptoe Through The Tulips" song, I didn't know the Tiny Tim reference though. Here are two of his musical numbers:

Thanks for taking the time on those points. I like that - and it's all very interesting. I was surprised how convincing the punk stuff sounded as what it isn't is Euro-punk as in Ca Plane Pour Moi, good fun though that can be. I might post other ones. I haven't yet taken in the OW links and look forward to doing that today.

Tiny Tim was big in the late 60s in the UK but soon faded. I think he may have edged your German in the date stakes with the Tiptoe song and makes me think he was copying TT.

Otto probably wins the nose competition though.

Genuine questions.

Do the Swiss have aristocracy?

If so, did Federer come from an aristocratic family?

It is sort of in his demeanour.

We do have some aristocracy but Federer surely isn't blue-blooded. You're right, there is a certain graceful aura around him that's rarely seen in the sports circuit or entertainment in general. I don't know where this is coming from. His parents must have done several things right. Even if he's angry and emotional at a press conference he doesn't behave like a redneck. He makes his point clear without using abusive language.

What's even more astonishing to me is the way he handled defeats and disappointments during the last few years. He doesn't have anything to prove anymore and after years of being number one and winning big tournaments like clockwork it would have been understandable if he'd lost interest in the game after being "dethroned" by several people (Djokovic, Nadal, Murray) and sometimes even getting "humiliated" by second rate players beyond the Top 30. Lots of players would have given up but he accepted defeats and his shortcomings caused by age and tried to solve the problems by adjusting his playing style again and again. And as you see he's succeding and always bounces back after a setback.
I think he has a realistic chance of winning the US Open on Sunday. And this is remarkable considering he's 34 years old.
