If you were in Government, what would you try to change?
I'd try to change the education system so that people who aren't traditionally academic are encouraged that they can do something with their life. You might not have the academic skill to be a Doctor or lawyer but you could be great at cooking or have amazing people skills.
They are skills that can contribute to society as well.
What would you change?
Long jail sentences for any violent crimes. Also jails on Mars.

I like that. Also teaching useful life skills at school. Like doing taxes.

That would be helpful. I did cooking at school- I think it is one of the most useful things I did. I wasn't good enough to make a job out of it and I'm not really confident enough to make things for other people, however I can make basic cakes or stir frys for myself.
I think the only other life skills lessons we got at school was when we were old enough to start driving we told not to be reckless and the fire brigade came and demonstrated using the jaws of life.
I think we got a 15min lesson on budgets as well. I think the gist of it was buy food/pay rent and bills before everything else.
I think that's probably more than I had.
We did do cooking but they made it all about nutritional facts and figures and sleep-inducing crap like that rather than actual bloody cooking.
Scrap the whole self serving shit heap and have a permanent plebiscite.

As I've said before, I'd exterminate all home economics teachers, PE teachers, and technical (i.e.woodwork etc.)teachers. Sadists and a waste of public money, all of them.

This - and at every level. The footsoldiers are the worst including in the abominable NHS. I've had it up to here with HMG's intimidation towards me across the board. I am on the verge of making Farage my best friend on that one and getting his backing. That's saying something given my history. I've got parents in their mid-eighties who are concerned about the lack of respect in society. Well, they can seeing that it has delivered permanent jobs, massive increases in house prices, pensions for ever and God knows what else. We are more on the level of the previous generations. Expected to doff your cap just after being required to dig out the bodies from Belsen. Not a toff there to be seen and no counselling of course. All my older uncles thought they were tossers. They were totally right. I felt some of them were gods once. They are the devil.

I'm letting it all out this week. I will be honest with you. We fell out on the Scottish thing a bit but mainly I like your economics and disgusted with everything angle and understand it. Well, there you are - I don't remember ever falling out with you. Yes. I like it here. I'm probably a sad person but I wouldn't be anywhere else. I despair of Britain. Tories are unfeeling aliens. Normally I try not to wish ill on anybody but I can't help wishing all these arses would become really poor so they can get a different perspective. Labour - truly don't know how Tony Blair sleeps at night. Jeremy Corbyn is a breath of fresh air but they're probably right that Labour will lose under him. How do we get to the pass where people with principles are losers?
