Does anyone remember The Goon Show? Page 6

Without The Goons Monty Python would never have happened. Spike Milligan was an absolute genius. Everyone should read his excellent war memoirs.

Errr.... :$

I suspected as much.

HRH BigEars is a fan of the show, so he can't be all bad.

He does quite a good Bluebottle impersonation. :)

Found this when looking for a Goon quote. Some interesting stuff.

Thanks for that, very interesting. :D

On Talking Pictures TV (Freeview HD channel no 81, Sky 343, Virgin 445) at 8pm this Friday (10 November): The Case Of The Mukkinese Battle-Horn, a rarely transmitted 30 minute short film based on the Goons (including Eccles & Minnie) with Spike Milligan, Peter Sellers & Dick Emery (taking the place of Harry Secombe who was apparently too expensive for the budget).

It has great reviews on IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0049059/reviews

Hmmm, my recollection of it was that it wasn't very good (I think I have it on DVD somewhere).

For me The Goons never really did work on film; but on radio..................SUPERB!
