Forgot the power in my street was going off today for electric company to do some work. They came and knocked on my door just after 8 to see if I owned a car in their way. It wasn't mine. I'm now very cranky because I've been woken up early,I can't make a hot drink.

Sure you can.

Ben is considering lunch. No idea what the hell to have.

Has an inflamed eye...and bloody hates it.

Billwill locked himself out of his house yesterday.

Was waiting for guys to arrive to pick up stuff sold on eBay, so I moved my big car closer to the house to make room for visitor's car.

When first visitor arrived. I knew we needed to go to my hut in the back garden, so I pulled the front-door shut behind me and then OH NO! I've locked the keys inside.

At first thought, no real problem, spare key hidden in garage, but then I realised the car was so close to the house that the garage door could not be opened ... and I'd locked the car too and the car keys were also now locked in the house.

AAARGH !

What on earth did you do?

Yes, I had already sold them; the visitors came to pay and collect the items. Fortunately the items were in the unlocked hut not locked in the house.

What on earth did you do?

After several fruitless attempts, with the visitors, I shooed them away.

And then I made a long hook with stuff from inside my hut. Fortunately because the weather is hot I had left the car windows open about an inch. After a number of attempts I managed to hook an inside door handle & open a car door. The car alarm went off of course, but I was able to release the hand-brake and push the car back, clear of the garage door.

The lock on the garage door is a combination lock, so I had not locked that in the house (I have it in my head).. Once in the garage I could easily find my spare front door key in its obscure hiding place.

And then of course I could get into the house and get my main bunch of keys, including the car keys.

So all ended well.

Ha, well done.
I had to fashion a long hook from garage implements once, and stick it through the cat flap.

Has either of you considered a career as a burglar or car thief?

Zooo would be a Cat Burglar, methinx.

Hehe. Steal aaaaall the cats.

Am very happy that none of neighbours saw me digging thru the wheelie bins to find the cheese knife I accidentally threw out.
