The re-branding of Manford from short-sleeved shirt wearing lad to be-suited urbane host is rather disturbing, as well.
The "lad" version of Jason Manford got himself into a spot of bother. A re-brand was the only way to prevent his career from going completely tits up.
Regardless, I agree. I'm can't say I'm a fan of any of his recent work.
Regardless of what he gets caught doing in his private life, I prefer his 'lad' persona. He's been pretty good on Cats and QI as well, though I wonder how much the guests are primed on what's coming up.

I wasn't watching but entered the room just as the picture of the male appendage was on and JM referred to it as a 'cock'.
Apparently it was hilarious (audience).
Is that really what telly has come to?

Jason Manford could be a decent comedian if he had some good material to work with. He's got the face and the personality and the likeability to do very well in the business but his material is woefully weak.
He's the polar opposite of Andi Osho who has absolutely no talent as a comedian but is sometimes given top-class material to learn and regurgitate.
If Jason can do a deal with whoever writes Andi's good stuff, he's got it made.
