Well everyone knows the hilarious consequences when you first come to Oz and go looking to buy thongs.
Corner shops are called Milk Bars which I like,it reminds me of my early encouters with members of the opposite sex in the 1950's.

Milk Bars? I think you maybe getting Australia confused with the film 'A Clockwork Orange'.

Get him to watch endless Kath and Kim with cocktail sticks in his eyes?

While at a family wedding some of the younger end were getting very drunk and very loud.
My niece (who is a lesbian) proclaimed for all to hear 'that she couldn't wait to go home and kiss her girlfriends beef curtains'

After the shock of this had died down, my mother (in her 80's) asked me
'what are beef curtains'?

Laughing out loud

My local butchers are a married couple. You always know who will be serving before you go in. If it's the man serving they have a big sausage and a couple of meatballs hanging in the window, if the woman is serving they usually have the beef curtains drawn.
