EDIT
No Me neither ahem
I'm not even sure if I have an iasis, but if I do it's not sore.
My wife suffers from it badly.
Oh shame mate
I think it's a bit harder for Women with the condition.
Or it seems so in my experience.
Men can be a bit more "Sod it" I think
Which isn't the right way to treat it either
My dad has it badly, on his legs.
Methotrexate, which was a drug developed for controlling arthritis, was found to also keep psoriasis under control, BUT it has a side effect of causing liver damage.
My wife has to have this checked every 3 months.
WHat I've found quite good unless your dad uses it already
Coconut Oil
But the Virgin stuff is better ( it has to smell of coconuts )
And of course Coal tar which smells like hell has just farted
I try to avoid the heavy duty drugs myself Herc, the side effects worry me a bit.
I usually go for the sunbed treatment, but you can't do that too often
I'm tackling it now with a healthy Psoriasis friendly diet & good moisturising
It's amazing what the diet can do I'll stick up a list of No no's if your Wives/Dads want to try that if they haven't already
My wife too has it.
My life has been spent smelling coal tar and never saying a word.
Here's the diet stuff to avoid anyway
(In case you didn't know)
It is believed that Psoriasis is possibly an auto immune reaction
So the Auto immune diet is good with added specific Psoriasis forbidden foods
Alcohol (ahem ok I'm not so strict on the diet tonight)
Caffeine ( drink Roiboos instead you get used to it )
Dairy Produce ( use Soya or Almond Milk Soya in decaff coffee Almond in Tea )
Fast food & Processed food
The Nightshade plants such as Tomato Potato & Peppers
Tomato is a big one so there are a lot of sauces you shouldn't use (Garlic & ginger are ok for flavouring)
Potato is also a massive one. Sweet Potato's are fine
Citrus fruit
Gluten (not proven 100% but going Gluten free seems to make a difference)
Red meat
Tobacco (also a nightshade plant)
Spicy Food ( Peppers Nightshade )
Fizzy Drinks
I'll add more when I remember
So you end up with a lot of chicken & veg, stir fry's in coconut oil (yum)
Good fruit, rice is good (no gluten)
Fish is great
Not sure what he uses at the moment, tbh. Any tips would be great.

When you get a bottle of the stuff and it has a big skull & crossbones on it you do get worried.

Yes, please do Steve, that will be most helpful. My wife also has quite a collection of prescription lotions and potions for scalp/body, but I have to say that the Methotrexate is the only one that keeps it completely at bay.
Unfortunately it is a powerful drug that has to be monitored closely.
I had Ecsma for one summer and then it went away, pretty horrid stuff and left me with a lot of sympathy for long term sufferers.
I used cortisone cream which seemed to work.
But yikes it was like suddenly my skin had gone from being a friend, to an enemy.

I did the diet with full Gusto last year
As I didn't want to have to go on injections or anything
Although I was doing it in tandem with sunbed treatment the results were incredible best I'd been in 10 years
And sunbeds had never worked that well on their own
I've flared up since & am doing the diet again now but not as strictly
I figure it might just become part of my life going forward
Who likes Chips anyway*
**Apart from that cheeky Nandos I had the other day
