Sit-Com set in lab, BBC2, what was it called.

I am going crazy trying to remember the name of a sitcom from perhaps 6-8 or so years ago. Set in a lab each episode would lead up to some horrible embarrassing final joke.
The boss of the lab was a Dutch/German woman who every episode would declare "this is not a circus" or something similar. The final episode and joke had her saying this when everything did indeed resemble a circus.

I rather liked this show and am surprised it was so badly received.
But at £25 from Amazon I think I'll put it on my Christmas list.
