Yeah never use self scanning! We don't want the supervisor to be employed, nor the person that services the machines, nor anyone at the factory that makes them! F**kers!

Checkout operators rotate their roles within the shop, they could be stacking shelves, unloading delivered goods, stock control, working the fag counter, etc etc.

You're better off boycotting the supermarket altogether and supporting your local shops!

Had you scanned it though? NEVER use the self-scanning! It's doing someone out of a job. If there's no choice I'm usually a nuisance and keep asking for assistance.

I've just bought an old portablr 1960s record player from an Antiques/Junk shop. It's one of those where you can stack about 6 45s. Ask your parents!

Bought one at a boot sale about 15 years ago for 25p - had to be the bargain of the year! Worked perfectly and am still using it now.

I keep expecting the Luddites to call on me to smash my computers up.

I build, design and program machines that put people out of work.

Each time I automate something - people are made redundant.

I used to feel bad about it especially when I knew the workers but it was explained to me thus:
A manufacturing business is all about 'unit' costs and if they can produce the same goods cheaper per unit than their competitors then I am actually saving everyone else's job in that factory

So the scanners are reducing running costs (ie less employees) and keeping them competitive.

A Daddy Long Legs just flew by. Bit early ay it ?

I saw a lovely bright yellow butterfly today.

Bizarrely, at Christmas, in the factory at work there were several butterflies and a few wasps buzzing about near the lights in the roof.

Never seen the like.

What? You've never seen lights Ben :O

Loopey will not now be taking delivery of home made pea soup as brother-in-law added a slice of his thumb to it.
