British Comedy Guide

New to this Website

Hello,

I'm starting out in stand-up comedy. I'm an Australian Aboriginal, and am looking for a place I can post my material, get some constructive criticism etc, and unfortunately you can't get into any meaningful Australian online comedy groups unless you already know someone. Also, I do tend to like British comedy better(my favourite show is Mock the Week). I like to model my comedy in the image of Jimmy Carr, Tim Vine and Frankie Boyle.

Is there a specific forum I can go to for this sort of stuff?

As a proper introduction, my latest stand-up act is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_HFAGZCFpM

Welcome. If you are looking for feedback you can post in Critique https://www.comedy.co.uk/forums/critique/

HI - loved your video. You have great stage presence and a cheeky chappy type of approach.

I think the Aboriginal thing is irrelevant in the UK, unless you work it into your jokes. I also didn't find it offensive, despite you telling me it was. Now Frankie Boyde does offensive, really close up to the bone. But your on stage persona appears too friendly, happy and nice to do A Frankie Boyd or even a Jimmy Car. But I can see you getting on well with Tim Vine - who is pure class. Welcome.
