I like East Anglia. My friend Lisa lives in a village outside Bury-St-Edmunds and I've been there a few times now. Barbara Vine (aka Ruth Rendell) also writes about how beautiful it is up there too. Maybe I should relocate?

I like Bury St Edmunds.

I like Bury St Edmunds.

It's such as lovely place; I also adore Cambridge. If I had the ability, I would have chosen it over Oxford, as two of my colleagues clearly did!

That's interesting; if I lived anywhere else it would be Oxford, I love it.

I've read all of the Colin Dexter 'Morse' novels and it would be very easy to fall in love with the academic air of the City from that, but I've tried not to, but yes, it's an amazing place too. Actually, I must re-read them, because they were bloody great and from what I recall, Colin Dexter was a Cambridge Don? He also had an issue with his hearing, hence 'The Silent World of Nicholas Quinn'.

Dusty Dons...swoon. My personal tutor at Birkbeck was totally unavailable, too busy drafting his Russian history. I wish I'd paid more attention to my studies at the time, but working full time and studying part-time was such as strain....plus I kind of fell out of love with history.

I have family in Oxford and love my visits there, lovely parks, amazing buildings, great places to eat, different things to do and see each time I go.

I think that I'll have an awayday there again very soon. I do own a Network card which allows me to save a third on rail travel....

Hurrah for Spring!

Me and swimming don't go well together.

I think you would need a new chair... with a propellor..

:)

Can you utilise your technical expertise and build us all a BCG submarine BillWill?

Don't think my OH would approve.

I haven't been to Bury St Edmunds for years, but have good memories of it. I believe they've got Britain's smallest pub there - The Nutshell.

In a nutshell.......yes.

Perhaps we should have the next BCG meet up in the Nutshell.

I think the record for cramming people in there was just over 100 - mind no one could get served!

Go on Loopey - reply and make your 2000! Congrats in advance. :D
