Less of the spamming please! :)

I'm sure it's a lot funnier than Miranda!

Miranda.
Some people say it's like Marmite, that series.

But here's the thing. I didn't mind the first series. At all.
Good, somewhat puerile fun. And yes, lots of falling over. And the knowing glances at the camera. She's no Oliver Hardy, but so what.

However, that's where it should have made a merciful exit.
But - no doubt based on the success of the first series - they gave it another run.
Well, I could see what they were thinking. If the first series floats...

But then, a third series. Err... Had anyone at the Beeb watched the second one? Really???

Alas, the third series came along. More turning to camera, falling over...

Meanwhile, I began to suspect that the cast too was losing interest.
By the time 'the finale' episodes came along, nobody really seemed to have their heart in it anymore.
One was there to collect one's paycheck.

So I actually have my feet firmly planted in both cow pats.
I didn't mind the first series. So what if it was broad humour? Not everything must be Noel Coward.
But please. A third series and another couple for the 'finale'?
Make it stop!

So for those who think that US writers a la Chuck Lorre overstay their welcome with series that go on for hundreds of episodes, I say, just look how dire we can make things over here with twenty - if we really, really try.

So yes, thank God for that midwife thingy.
If they hadn't found Miranda Hart something else to do, I might just have lost the will to live.
