Seriously odd name for a group.
Ride - Seagull
I've recently been listening to some alleged "classic" albums recommended by other people and been left cold. I'm sorry if anyone is offended but:
Captain Beefheart-Trout Mask Replica: What on earth????
Pink Floyd-Dark Side of the Moon: Dull, Dull, Dull
Velvet Underground: Self indulgent
Joy Division-Unknown Pleasures: What's all the fuss about
Sex Pistols-Never Mind The Bollocks: Whats all the fuss about?

You make me sick.
Fair enough on Pink Floyd - boring hippy bollox
Ill give you that mate
But if you ever, EVER slag off the Pistols again I will hunt you down and stick safety pins through each of your testes

For the defence, I love:
Pink Floyd-Wish You Were Here
The Clash-London Calling
David Bowie-Ziggy Stardust
Love-Forever Changes
Sly and the Family-Stone-there's a riot goin on
Led Zeppelin 4

Not a patch on The Clash, Ramones or The Damned, imho
Ya I prefer The Clash and the Ramones too
Damned weren't to shabby too
Don't much care for Lydon/Rotten-bit of a hypocrite. Strummer was a genuine working class hero. Top man

The Clash are the greatest band in history
And Joe is a godlike legend
But he was middle class
Don't matter to me like..
Squeeze-Up the junction
"I got a job with Stanley, he said I'd come in handy"
Take that, Shakespeare!
The Lemonheads-Its a shame about Ray

The thing is you have almost to have heard it at the time. When people have raved about them for years maybe you expect more.
I never got into Beefheart although John Peel thought he as wonderful. Dark Side has always been "around" so when I only bought it a couple of years ago I still enjoyed it. Never mind though is really a classic. I don't know how you can dismiss things like Pretty Vacant and Anarchy though. How loud are you listening to it?
I've got favourite albums I kind of discovered for myself that I can listen to over and over again but I understand why they do nothing for may others.

Of those I only really know (and love) Ziggy and Forever Changes. I never got into the Clash on record. Live they were good though.

The damned are still one of my favourites and the Ramones were great to listen to for about 15 minutes at a time.
